A Federal TRIO Program

The University of Kansas TRIO Veterans Upward Bound (VUB) is an education and skills program designed specifically to serve the needs of today's veterans. Our mission is to provide eligible veterans with academic and career advising, classroom instruction, and other academic services, which will allow the student to develop the necessary skills to enter into, and to succeed in, programs of post-secondary education.

We offer a unique range of services designed to prepare eligible veterans for success when they enter their chosen educational program, whether it is at a 2-year community college, a 4-year college or university, or a public or private vocational or technical school. All services, including instruction, textbooks, advising, and supplies, are provided FREE of charge.

VUB is a TRIO Program funded by the U.S. Department of Education and is administered through the Center for Educational Opportunity Programs within the Achievement and Assessment Institute at the University of Kansas. We serve veterans in the greater Kansas City metropolitan area including Douglas, Leavenworth and Wyandotte Counties in Kansas, and Jackson, Cass, and Clay Counties in Missouri. Our main office is located in Kansas City, Kansas.
